Message Boost420, we're still not on the same page. My question really boils down to this:

If you ran degraded turbos where you know the compressor efficiency is down a little, you'll still be producing the same output in terms of pressure and airflow, but the temperature leaving the compressor is higher. If instead of a stock intercooler you run a "bigger" intercooler you should be able to trade off the known loss in compressor efficiency with more heat transfer through the bigger intercooler and have the exact same inlet conditions into the intake plenum, i.e. the core engine (assumed not degraded) will produce the same power. A degraded turbine part of the turbo would probably increase performance but at the expense of higher temperature exiting the turbine, which when extremely degraded could damage the material properties but otherwise gets thrown away through the tailpipe. pacmanpth, what do you think?
